cubbypup asked: What was the first camera you ever owned? And what made you decide to do photography?
Hmmm….the first one I ever owned was probably the Polaroid that I saved up and bought with my allowance. I ALWAYS hated the waiting for ‘real’ cameras to have their film developed. After that, I kind of dropped out of photography for a good long while.
My Dad was/is an amateur shutterbug as well, and I think I was rebelling against his ‘hobby’, so I never really gave it much thought until about seven years ago. I was traveling a lot with my ex, and we only had a little point-and-shoot camera to capture all the great places we were seeing. Once I got a ‘real’ digital SLR camera, I was hooked.
Photography for me is a near-impossible art form, because you’re chasing that moment…that split-second where everything comes together and the photo tells you everything you need to know. I chase it all the time…I still don’t know if I’ve caught it.
